Ottoman Hotel Imperial
Istanbul, Turkey
Overview
Originally built as a school in the 1800’s before becoming a hospital the following century, the Ottoman Imperial is now a charming boutique hotel in a prime position; in the heart of Sultanahmet, boasting magnificent views over the impressive Aya Sofya and the old district.
There are fifty two well-appointed rooms and suites in varying shapes and sizes, but all beautifully furnished in a contemporary Turkish style with an Ottoman twist. Many of the rooms also have superb views of the remarkable Aya Sofya museum.
The Ottoman Imperial has a fabulous flower-filled terrace and two delightful restaurants; Sadrazam, an informal buffet restaurant, and Matbah, a fine dining option with fabulous views over Caferaga Medrese, where local craftsmen work on ancient art such as calligraphy, jewellery and ‘Ebru’; traditional Turkish marbling.
• Perfect for both adults and families
• Sultanahmet District – 2 min walk
• 52 rooms and suites
WE RECOMMEND feasting on the huge buffet breakfast before exploring the fascinating sights of Sultanahmet
