When my wife Maureen and I first started Travel Counsellors in January 1994 we never imagined it would grow into the success story it is today. But I was sure that our business model was right. It was clear to me that travel consultants were the unsung heroes of travel. And the success of Travel Counsellors has proved this to be the case.
Travel Counsellors may have grown into a large, international company but at our heart we are still a family business. Central to our success is our family ethos, where everyone is important and knows they are valued. Our company is not a success because our personal Travel Counsellors are home based, but because we harness their passion and expertise by giving them all the help, support, values and encouragement they need. So yes, our people are home-based but that is only a small part of the story, I firmly believe that our techniques could be used in conventional agencies and still have outstanding results.
It is our drive for excellence, our insistence on high standards and our emotional attachment between the company and our Counsellors, and in turn our Counsellors and their customers, that has resulted in the business having a loyal public following like no other.
