Love it or hate it, and there are followers in either camp, holidays in the Costa del Sol are very popular. This coast stretches along 150 kms (93m) of Mediterranean coastline and covers the entire province of Malaga. Good weather is all but guaranteed and there are plenty of places to play. You’ll find golf, theme parks, water sports and plenty of nightlife from cool and sophisticated to downright rowdy. If you get fed up with all this frivolity you can always take a trip to Gibraltar.

Spain is a full member of the European Union. EU citizens do not need a visa to enter Spain. You are required by law to have your passport with you at all times and you may be asked to produce it when you use a credit card.
Along the coast daily highs are around 35°C/95°F in summer. Winters are mild with daily highs around 20°C/68°F.
Malaga airport, eight kilometres west of Malaga, is the main airport for the Costa del Sol. It takes about two and three quarter hours to fly from London to Malaga.
It is a legal requirement in Spain to carry two red triangles, one of which must be placed in front, and one behind the vehicle if there’s an accident. Spanish law also prohibits talking on a mobile phone when you are driving unless you have a hands-free phone.
