This Thailand beach resort emerged only recently in the early 1920s, so it’s still relatively new and being developed slowly and carefully. In its early years, it became a place to which Bangkok residents and Thai royalty would escape the noise and bustle of their city. In fact, Klai Kangwon Palace is the regular residence of the king. Now, others have discovered its beauty and cultural attractions.
Its serenity has made it an ideal destination for couples and families. You won’t be overwhelmed by a lengthy list of things to do and see, but you won’t be bored either on a holiday to Hua Hin. The beach is lovely and clean, perfect for spending a leisurely day playing in the waves, snorkelling and enjoying the feel of the Thai sunshine on your skin.
When you’re not having a massage on the beach, or nibbling Thai seafood dishes, you may have a chance to enjoy some unique events. The Thailand International Kite Festival held during March, April and May is good fun for kids and adults alike. And the Hua Hin Jazz Festival in June attracts crowds who like to tap their toes on the sandy beach, the site of the event. In the evening, head to the nightly street market and try traditional Thai dishes from local vendors. There is so much to choose from that you’ll want to take a look around before deciding on where to eat. Many menus are in English and it’s acceptable to ask for a small sample if you’re unsure. Surrounded by Hua Hin residents, soak up the atmosphere and an understanding of how Thai people live and play.
The sun, surf and sand are always the star attractions here.
Though you can access the inside of the palace, do roam the beautiful gardens, a heavenly combination of tropical flowers and exotic trees.
Enjoy every minute of the sunset from high atop Khao Takiab, the highest point in Hua Hin.
