If you’re in search of a lively beach holiday with a wide choice of restaurants, shops and lots of nightlife, holidays in Rhodes rule supreme. The island is the capital of the Dodecanese group, in the southeast corner of the Aegean tucked up along the Turkish coast. Although Rhodes is unashamedly a holiday ‘haven’, Rhodes Old Town – as opposed to its New Town – is full of fascinating historical sights. The fortified medieval city is easily walkable with flamboyant castles, grand palaces, imposing streets and twisty narrow alleys. Head for the resorts on the east coast if you want an upbeat holiday in Rhodes. The west coast is not as beautiful as the east coast but it gets progressively quieter the further you travel away from the resort of Paradis.

Varied nightlife catering for all tastes
Seeking out quite deserted beaches especially around Lindos
Relaxed touring on the island’s west coast.
Thinking that all the resort areas are pretty much the same. They aren’t. Choose carefully to find one that suits you.
