Whistler is one of the great ski resorts of the world and one for your list of places to ski before you die.
Whistler has two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb. Together they give access to around 8,000 acres of mountains and more than 200 marked runs. Ski holidays in Whistler usually involve a drive of two to three hours from Vancouver.

Top elevation here is almost 7,500 feet/2,286 metres so it’s a resort best avoided by anyone who can’t adapt well to altitude.
Whistler is the host city for 2010 so expect construction work in the lead-up to the Games.
British citizens don’t need visas for holidays in Whistler. But you will need at least six months validity left on your passport.

Flights to Vancouver for Whistler from London take around nine to ten hours.
Onward transfers by road to Whistler depend on weather and traffic conditions but allow two to three hours.
