Dear Anne, what a great holiday in Rome and Sorrento! Everything that you arranged was perfect - there were no hitches - flights, hotels, rail travel and food all worked a dream. In Rome, we visited the Vatican, the Colosseum and as many of the ancient Roman ruins in the city centre that we could fit in. While the others rested in the heat of the day I was out again pounding the pavements 'clocking' all the more disparate Roman sites that I'd read about since childhood - great to se them in the 'flesh'...
