My Travel Diaries
I have just returned from a family holiday in the Algarve.
The beaches are fantastic, especially in Vilamoura!. Albufeira, its neighbouring resort has a very relaxing and family friendly feel to it. On an evening, my husband, Jack and myself would have a wander around the old square where there are street musicians, artists and entertainers. Most of the pavement cafes, bars and restaurants overlook the square, which is a perfect position to sit and watch the world go by.
We stayed in Vilamoura, overlooking the marina - which is bustling of an evening. We were spoilt for choice on which restaurant to venture into, as most are really family friendly. All the staff in the restaurant's kept my son, Jack (aged 2) entertained.
As we wandered further down Vilamoura beach, we stumbled upon a town called Quarteira, which also has a brilliant beach for children. Compared to Vilamoura, this is a town in which a lot of Portuguese live and work. It is quite a lot older than Vilamoura. A little bit further down Quarteira beach is a resort called Vale do Lobo, rather a small resort we thought - with just a few beachside cafes and bars. Vale do lobo did not have enough to do for Jack, but is ideal for a relaxing break, especially if you like golf. It also seemed to be a place in which to go celebrity spotting!
A fantastic week which was enjoyed by all.
