My Travel Journals
In August I was lucky enough to be taken to New York as a guest of Continental Airlines along with 6 fellow Travel Counsellors. I experienced travelling in both Economy Class and Business First – which was true luxury!
Even though I have been lucky enough to visit New York twice before, I was amazed by how many new experiences this city still has to offer. I stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel which is a beautiful traditional hotel in a fantastic central location, a few blocks from Times Square, Rockerfeller Center and a short walk to Central Park.
The weather was glorious and we took the open bus tour on the South Manhattan loop; a great way to see the sights as well as a great way to get around, as you can hop on and hop off as you like. After taking lunch at South Street Seaport we took a water taxi for amazing views of the bridges and Statue of Liberty. That evening after dinner at Alfonso's, near the Rockerfeller Canter we experienced the Top of the Rock Attraction. My top tip would be to visit the 'Top of the Rock' attraction at night, the Manhattan skyline all lit up is truly breathtaking.
The City has so much to offer and we did so much, including taking a horse and cart ride around Central Park and of course, shopping, shopping and more shopping!! New York is a city that has something to offer everyone, so much so I am already planning my next trip back there - as there is so much I still haven't seen and done in the city!
