About Me
Hello, welcome to my web page. My name is Chris Rugg and I am an independent travel agent with Travel Counsellors based on Canvey Island, where I have lived with my husband and raised a family for the past 26 years. I am happy to say that I have been indulging my passion for travel by working in the travel industry for over 10 years. I worked originally with a local independent travel agency, gaining valuable experience dealing with all aspects of travel, and joined Travel Counsellors in 2004 as I saw an opportunity to concentrate on offering excellent and unbiased customer service.
My travels have included:
The Caribbean - Jamaica, St Lucia and Antigua plus Grand Cayman, together with Rhodes and Crete in the Greek Islands, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Mainland Spain, Portugal and Cyprus and I have also cruised around the Western Caribbean.
The cities I have visited and enjoyed include Paris, Amsterdam, Stuttgart and Salzburg (fantastic Christmas Markets!), Barcelona, Prague, St Petersburg, charming Bruges, and Brussels, plus Rome, Pisa, Florence and Sienna. I love Rome in particular for its tremendous history, not to mention the cuisine! I hope to visit again soon.
I have also spent many holidays in the USA which I love for its diversity - New York for its buzz, California for its movie-screen glamour and for people watching, not to mention Disney of course. Las Vegas for the fantastic themed hotels, and of course the odd flutter! Not forgetting of course Florida for the child in everyone - theme parks galore - plus fantastic Gulf Coast beaches and the natural wonder of the Everglades, and the unique, fantastic Key West. I would love to follow Route 66 - it remains an ambition of mine - and I am also hoping to visit Australia and the Far East too in the future.
I love being a Travel Counsellor because I have the freedom to find my customer the right holiday, and to provide the highest level of customer service on which I pride myself, together with the freedom to be available at a time to suit my customer, including evenings and weekends. The technology at my finger-tips is second to none and I can source any holiday for you from a UK break, cruise, flight or hotel only, city weekend break, short or long haul beach holiday, tailor-made, or honeymoon.
