Unbelievable Egypt

We travelled to Egypt for the first time in June 2008 as we had always wanted to visit the Pyramids.

From the moment we booked, during and after our holiday we were totally looked after. We were greeted in the airport by a representative who sorted out our visas, took our bags off the carousel and escorted us to our hotel, whilst giving us a guided tour along the way. After stopping off for refreshments we arrived at the hotel in Cairo and our greeter checked us into the hotel while we relaxed in reception.

The tour operator we booked with was absolutely fantastic; we had never experienced that level of customer service before and at such an affordable price!

We were talked through the itinerary of our entire holiday so we knew where we had to be and at what time. Obviously by this time we had totally switched off but we had the paperwork to fall back on!

Our hotel balcony overlooked the swimming pool and right in front of us - was the Pyramids – when we walked into our hotel room we were speechless (that doesn’t happen very often!).

It was a hectic first week with a few early mornings, but it was well worth it. In the first 3 days we visited the Pyramids, Sphinx and The Egyptian Museum, our private guide was extremely knowledgeable and he also took us to the Papyrus factory and a couple of Bizarre’s and every day dropped off us back at the hotel whenever we were ready.

We flew from Cairo to Luxor to stay in a hotel right on The Nile, which was our base while we travelled to the East and West Bank Temples and the Valley of Kings and Queens, and we even saw the Mummy of Tutankhamen. Again the next private guide was equally as good as the first and knew everything about Egyptian history.

For our last week we chilled out in a 5 star hotel in El Gouna. We travelled there in a private transfer by road which took about 4 hours in a massive convoy of coaches, taxis and other private transfers.

Finally we could relax on the hotel’s private beach for 7 lovely days; the food was plentiful and there were a couple of a la carte restaurants including a fish restaurant overlooking the Red Sea.

The first week was all about getting up early in the morning to visit the sights and then chilling around the pool in the afternoon. The second week was a complete wind down with the beach on our doorstep. Overall it was a totally memorable experience and by far our best holiday yet.

To learn about Egyptian history in such great detail was something I wasn’t expecting. I knew we would see all that Egypt has to offer but to that level of detail and one-to-one representatives, guides and drivers was something else.

If this kind of experience is for you, then just give me a call and we can make this happen for you. Believe me, you will not forget it!
