Norwegian Fjords cruise 2012

Having done Alaska cruise. I thought it was only natural to do Norwegian Fjords as my next step of adventure. I went with my wife as we both never cruised around Norway. We stayed the night before in Southampton at De Vere Grand Harbour hotel. I would recommend staying the night before at a hotel, as some packages give reduce parking at the port. It was first time I sailed from Southampton, so it was an experience for me.The port was busy, as other cruise line was also having debarkation and embarkation. I sailed on Ventura P& O cruises for 7 nights on 13 May . I had ocean balcony cabin which was great for the views. I had two lovely meals on the cruise ship restaurants, White and Asia both had an additional supplement to pay. Currency on the ship is pound sterling. Most of the guest were UK. Afternoon Tea was served in the main restaurant on a daily basis. I have to say the scenery was stunning on this cruise. I particularly liked Skjolden and Geiranger as both of these destinations were more like Norway and less touristy. I would like to visit Norway again for a short break. A tip- Norway is not a cheap place, but the scenery makes up for it along with the food. This cruise would appeal to couples and families especially if you like scenery.
