Snowy Sauze return ski trip February 2018

II'm just back from a week's skiing holiday in Sauze d'oulx. This is my second time visiting this resort and it feels like my home from home now. I'm very tempted to go again in 2019 as I love the people, gorgeous Italian food and the atmosphere in this resort is simply fantastic. I enjoyed the intermediate runs and took on a black run and more off piste skiing this year which was fun, as well as the nice pretty blue and red runs which I'm comfortable with to Sestriere and San Sicario. Take a look at my pictures for some very nice views.

The snow conditions were fantastic. I'm glad we got back as it hit as low as -19 the day after we flew home. Me, my husband and friends enjoyed another great week in Italy. I have to admit I'm missing my morning break with hot chocolate and whipped cream with the stunning mountain views.

I stayed in the pension Derby which was basic but spotless and the host Amanda knew everything we asked her. The bus stop is opposite the hotel and takesfive5 minutes to the main chairlift to Sportina.

I enjoyed some private lessons for €39 per hour. The instructors are great here and the more people that have lessons makes private lessons great value.

We went into Jouvenceaux for a meal which is a traditional village and we had proper homemade meals from a family restaurant which was a great experience. We even tried the sugar cubes (not for the faint hearted as they include pure alcohol) which are given at the end of a meal to take away the fullness. I have to say they did work but were very strong.

I have lots of restaurant and bar recommendations and it’s safe to say we had no bad meals while we were away. Italy you've been fantastic as always.

If you’re planning a ski holiday please get in touch as it will be a pleasure to help you.

I've now skied in Italy twice and Andorra, Austria, and Bulgaria once!
