My Travel Journals
Having sent so many of my clients to Australia, I was delighted to be visiting this wonderful, diverse continent for myself, and I wasn't disappointed.
Our first stop was Perth, a really beautiful, clean city and so easy to visit all the sights with the free bus connections throughout the city. November was a good time for the weather; just like our best spring days. Whilst we were there we visited the Perth Mint, took a wine cruise along the Swan River, went swimming with the dolphins in their natural environment and took the ferry to Fremantle. We enjoyed our time in Perth and would love to go back to Western Australia at a later date and spend more time exploring the area; there is so much to do!
Our next stop was Sydney, WOW! Fantastic. We spent our evenings at the Rocks and Darling Harbour experiencing the different cuisine on offer. During the day we walked the Sydney Harbour Bridge - not to be missed, and took a trip into the Blue Mountains. We also made use of the many ferry services around the Harbour and visited Manly.
Up into the Hunter Valley region, finally, where we saw part of the original remaining road that the convicts built; a little bit of their history which really captured my imagination. Obviously whilst here we visited a few of the very famous vineyards and sampled some very pleasant wines; the scenery here was also wonderful.
My only complaint; we didn't have nearly long enough!
