Any of you who know about cruising may know that Silverseas offer 5 star small ship all inclusive luxury cruises, and I was happy that I was going to have the privilege of sailing on the Silver Shadow from Miami to Barbados.

The first 2 days were spent cruising the Caribbean and what a delight that was; no phones, no email and a splendid way to get to know this lovely small ship. The sailing was smooth and and the decks were peaceful during the day with plenty of space to unwind and relax; I was really quite disappointed when we docked for the first time as it meant we had to leave our little world of luxury. The service on board was excellent and the cuisine superb with no fixed dining times so we could please ourselves when we went for dinner. There was no worry about running up expensive bills as it is all included. The wine list is varied but always appropriate for the menu each night. If we didn't feel like going out for dinner or breakfast, a phone call and it was delivered to our cabin where we could sit on our balcony and enjoy a leisurely meal.

The cabins were very spacious, we had a mid-ship verandah cabin which had a sitting area, large walk in wardrobe, large bathroom with separate walk in shower and a bath. The crew were friendly and helpful and always had time to chat and share their experiences with you.

During our cruise we visited St Barts, The BVI's, St Kitts, St Thomas finishing in Barbados where we were docked for 2 days before flying back. A very relaxing holiday all round and one that we hope to repeat in the future.
