Experience five-star luxury at Meliá Bali

From Europe to the Caribbean coast of Mexico, Meliá’s hotels around the world - more than 350 in 35 countries - stand out for their genuine hospitality and sense of place. One of our favourites from this world-leading Spanish group is the Meliá Bali located in tropical gardens on Nusa Dua Beach in the south-east of the ‘Island of the Gods’.  As well as being just 12km from the airport, it’s near some of Bali’s biggest attractions, including Uluwatu Temple and Garuda Wisnu Kencana, and only 12km from the airport. We’ve looked at the many reasons to book your next holiday at the Meliá Bali.

Experience five-star luxury at Meliá Bali

Dining at the Meliá Bali

We love this foodies’ paradise for its fantastic array of enticing venues and cuisines. It’s hard to pick a favourite spot, but don’t miss Lotus for its Southeast Asian dishes accompanied by a traditional Balinese cabaret interpreting the island’s mythical stories, beachfront Sateria for its Mediterranean dining accompanied by chilled sangria and a live band, Sakura for its Tokyo fishmarket vibe, and The Lunch Family Kitchen by the pool and beach.

There’s also a charming café, Kopi Petani, serving aromatic coffees freshly made from beans hand-picked by farmers in nearby Kintamani, as well as great teas and pastries. Of the several drinking spots, we especially rate the Mount Agung View Bar on the white-sand beach with its volcano vistas and bonfires and shisha in the evening.

Accommodation at the Meliá Bali

Blending in with its exuberant tropical environment, the resort offers fresh and airy rooms, suites, and villas in a modern Indonesian style, with white linens, natural woods, and local artworks and decorative touches.

There’s something for everyone here, from family suites and connecting rooms to Junior Suites with direct lagoon-pool access. Villas come with private pools and up to two bedrooms.

If you upgrade to The Level, you get even more luxuries, including concierge service, private lounge access, use of an exclusive beach and pool (adult-only), private check-in and check-out, and in-room capsule coffee makers.

Experiences at the Meliá Bali

For those here to focus on their physical and spiritual well-being, or anyone in the mood for a little pampering, the resort has an incredible spa drawing on ancient Balinese wisdom in its locally inspired massages and cleansing treatments. There’s also an outdoor hydromassage area with warm and cold water. The 24-hour gym comes with the services of a personal trainer should you desire, and there are fitness classes including yoga, Pilates, and Zumba.

If you’re here with little ones, Meliá Bali offers them a safe space in which to make new friends in the form of kids’ clubs with games, activities and workshops for ages four to seven years and eight to 12 years, including a children’s pool and evening sessions.

Everyone can benefit from and have fun in the vast (1500m²) lagoon-style pool, while other activities include tennis, padel tennis, basketball, badminton, table tennis, giant chess, beach volleyball, water polo and more. The resort even has its own golf simulator – plus perks at the neighbouring Bali National Golf Club with its 18 holes across three different landscapes.

You can also immerse yourself in ancient Balinese culture through the likes of penjor (bamboo decorating) workshops, fruit carving, sarong making, Balinese cuisine, batik and palm-leaf writing, local dance, and town and temple visits.
