What you need to know

21 days from £2475 per person – includes 25% off until 31st January

Lima to Lima

16 nights in characterful hotels or guesthouses, one night in a jungle lodge, one night on an overnight bus, one night in a homestay.

Domestic flights: transport between destinations and to/from included activities.

There is a great mix of guided excursions led by local experts and free time to explore under your own steam. As you chart a course through breathtaking landscapes, you’ll come across the salt pans of Maras and the ruins of Moray, spot condors over Colca Canyon, and delve into everyday life here thanks to a homestay on Lake Titicaca – and that’s just a few of the adventures that await you.

The Inca Trail

Lima | Lima/Paracas | Paracas/Nazca | Nazca/Arequipa | Arequipa | Arequipa/Colca Canyon | Colca Canyon/Puno | Puno/Lake Titicaca | Lake Titicaca/Puno | Puno/Cusco | Cusco | Cusco/Ollantaytambo | Inca Trail (3 days) | Machu Picchu/Cusco | Cusco | Cusco/Tambopata | Tambopata | Tambopata/Lima | Lima

This hike takes you through some of the most stunning landscapes the region has to offer, including Lima, Arequipa, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, and of course, Machu Picchu. The experience of hiking the Inca Trail is an unforgettable one, as you take in the breathtaking views while trekking through the Andes and discovering ancient ruins along the way. It's a long journey, but it's worth every step.

Lares Trek

Lima | Lima/Paracas | Paracas/Nazca | Nazca/Arequipa | Arequipa | Arequipa/Colca Canyon | Colca Canyon/Puno | Puno/Lake Titicaca | Lake Titicaca/Puno | Puno/Cusco | Cusco | Cusco/Ollantaytambo | Lares trek (2 days) | Lares trek/Aguas Calientes | Machu Picchu/Cusco Rise | Cusco | Cusco/Tambopata | Tambopata | Tambopata/Lima | Lima

This trail will take you through pristine landscapes and picturesque villages, allowing you to meet the descendants of the Incas who built the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. Unlike the Inca Trail, which mainly passes through ruins and uninhabited areas, the Lares Trek offers an authentic glimpse into the daily lives and traditions of the modern-day Andean people.

Cusco Stay - Non Hiking

Lima | Lima/Paracas | Paracas/Nazca | Nazca/Arequipa | Arequipa | Arequipa/Colca Canyon | Colca Canyon/Puno | Puno/Lakce Titicaca | Lake Titicaca/Puno | Puno/Cusco | Cusco | Cusco/Ollantaytambo | Ollantaytambo/Cusco | Cusco | Cusco/Aguas Calientes | Machu Picchu/Cusco  | Cusco | Cusco/Tambopata | Tambopata | Tambopata/Lima | Lima

The non-hiking option takes you by train along the Urubamba River to Machu Picchu, also with ruins, mountains, and cloud forests to admire along the way. Instead of hiking, you have two nights in Cusco and a night in Aguas Calientes, joining the hikers for the tour of Machu Picchu. Included in your trip are visits to the Ccaccaccollo Community and Women's Weaving Co-op, the Parwa Community Restaurant in the Sacred Valley, and a Huacachina winery.

Then there are the optional extras, which include a Lima city tour, cooking classes in Lima and Cusco, kayaking on Lake Titicaca, a visit to Machu Picchu thermal baths, and a caiman-spotting cruise. But this is just a small taster - there are even more to pick from!

For those hiking the Inca Trail or doing the Lares Trek – challenging, but rewarding you with glorious views of cloud forest, mountains, and ruins – it’s worth bearing in mind that our partner runs their own treks, so we can guarantee that porters will be fairly treated and the food, service, and equipment is of high quality.
