Explore Canada and Alaska like never before with Rocky Mountaineer and Oceania Cruises

These two experiences are iconic in their own right, but between them they’ll take you to some very special places across Canada and Alaska over a simply breathtaking 17 days that you’ll never forget. Naturally, space on this pre-cruise trip and 12-day voyage is limited, so do contact us as soon as possible for a quote if you’re yearning for the journey of a lifetime.

What to expect on the Rocky Mountaineer journey

You’ll arrive in Calgary for an indulgent night’s stay at the luxurious Fairmont Palliser Hotel or similar before boarding your private sightseeing tour and transfer from Calgary into the Canadian Rockies the next morning. One of the highlights is ascending Sulphur Mountain via the Banff Gondola in a record-breaking eight minutes.

In Banff, you’ll stay at the Rimrock Hotel or similar and have plenty of time to enjoy its facilities or explore the region on your own. The next day you’ll savour the sights of Banff and Yoho national parks on a private sightseeing tour, including visits to Natural Bridge State Park, Takakkaw Falls, and shimmering Emerald Lake with its awe-inspiring views.

The following morning you’ll board Rocky Mountaineer for your epic two-day rail journey to Vancouver. You’ll travel through the remarkable engineering achievement of the Spiral Tunnels and through Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park, with staggering views of snow-capped mountains and glaciers through the domed panoramic roof. Your Rocky Mountaineer GoldLeaf Service includes a five-star breakfast, lunch, and drinks during your time on board.

You’ll spend a night in a hotel in Kamloops before boarding the Rocky Mountaineer to follow the Thompson River, passing through Ashcroft and the Rainbow Canyon to witness multi-hued cliffs before continuing to the Fraser Canyon and Hells Gate. This last leg takes you through the lush farming region of Fraser Valley to Vancouver.

After a cosy night in Vancouver’s Pan Pacific Hotel or similar, you’ll take in the city, ocean, and mountains on a half-day sightseeing tour of Vancouver’s North Shore, which includes Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Then, at the Canada Place cruise terminal, you’ll board Regatta for the next spectacular part of your trip – your Alaskan cruise.

Oceania’s Regatta

This spectacular vessel is the perfect ship for revelling in the natural wonders of the ‘Last Frontier’, immersing you in the best of the USA’s 49th state with its calving glaciers, breathtaking fjords, fascinating wildlife encounters, and lively historic gold-mining towns such as Juneau and Skagway.

En route, you can also relax and rejuvenate in the fabulous onboard Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center, with its healing therapies and complimentary fitness classes. We highly recommend massages in an exclusive suite, the marine-based wraps and scrubs, traditional Chinese medicine, medi-spa aesthetic treatments, plus the HIIT, yoga, and Pilates classes.
