Biddulph Grange Gardens, Stoke-on-Trent

A day out at the amazing Biddulph Grange Gardens on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent is a 'must do' a perfect day out for the whole family.

We visited Bank holiday weekend and were first through the door at 10am.

On arrival, parking was easy and once through the gates and past the 'garden shop' the sight of the building was upon you, and what an impressive building it is!

The gardens were created by James Bateman with plants and trees being brought in from all over the world.

The gardens feature a collection of rhododendrons and dahlias as well as the worlds oldest Golden larch in Great Britain which was brought in from China in the 1850s!

Described as a 'master piece of Victorian garden design, a quirky playful paradise' these gardens will not fail to delight!

Around every bend and corner, along narrow gravel paths, through tunnels and caves you can discover plants from around the world featuring Italy, China, the pyramids of Egypt and a re creation of a Himalayan glen.

Visit the UKs oldest stumpery and the 'Pinetum' where you'll find hollies yews and oaks.

Browse around the lovely shop with lots of interesting items and at very reasonable prices.

Biddulph Grange remains one of Britains most important historic gardens and is Grade one listed, a grading given only to sites of the highest significance.

These not so well known gardens are a definite credit to the National trust, we can't wait to visit again!
