My Travel Diaries
Florida is one of my favourite holiday destinations in the USA and I have been fortunate to visit there many times during my years in the travel industry. My first visit was in 1982 when my husband, daughter and myself went to visit an uncle and aunt who had moved to Tampa which is on the Gulf of Mexico. I fell in love with the beautiful beaches and the American way of life and after that first visit I could not wait to return. There is so much to do in Florida as well as the fantastic theme parks which both children and adults love; beautiful beaches, breathtaking wild life and nature reserves. There is something for everybody.
The best way to see Florida is to hire a car and tour around but if you do not want to drive I would recommend you stay on or around International Drive where you can walk to many different shops and restaurants and book bus excursions to most of the theme parks and attractions at a very reasonable cost. If you enjoy sport Florida has hundreds of golf courses where you can have a game of golf at a good price. My husband has played on the Disney courses and found the prices there much cheaper than in Europe. As Florida has such a great climate all year round most outdoor sports are available to you such as tennis, sailing, swimming and many more. During the summer months the weather can be very hot and humid and during the winter months still very warm but not as humid so you can choose the right time to go to suit your requirements.
We have also cruised to the Caribbean from Florida where we stayed a week in Clearwater which is a beach resort on the Gulf of Mexico and booked a cruise from Tampa - this option I can thoroughly recommend. I could go on and on about Florida so feel free to contact me if you are thinking of taking your holiday there, I know I can help you to book your perfect holiday which will suit your requirements.
