My Travel Diaries
Disneyland Paris - well what can I say, full of fun and excitement.
I have visited Disneyland Paris on several occasions the last being before Christmas, and what a magical time to take your family there.
As soon as we entered the park the magic began, not only are children beaming with excitement but adults too with all the Disney characters wandering around the park throughout the day.
At Christmaswe witnessed the magic of the park - decorated in the festive theme with Santa Claus and his sleigh parked just inside the entrance. At certain times throughout the day as you walk down mainstreet you have snow falling from the skies and Christmas carols playing in the background. There are special Christmas parades both in the afternoon and evening, starting from the park and leading down into Mainstreet. All the Disney characters are involved along with Santa Claus and his real reindeers. It truly is an unforgettable experience.
Apart from all this you then have the pleasure of the 2 theme parks, with rides for the young, the old and the very adventurous.
There are plenty of restaurants and fast food outlets in the park which are a little more expensive than in the UK but overall the parks are good value for money.
Getting to Disneyland Paris was easy, we have travelled by car and ferry, by Eurostar and by plane, various options are available depending on what mode of travel you prefer.
There are also various hotel options for you, you could either stay in one of the on-site hotels, or stay on the outskirts and make your own way to the park each day by either train or car. My favourite hotel is on-site at the Newport Bay Club, the rooms are nicely furnished and you have different characters in the reception in the morning for the children. This hotel is located overlooking the lake and is only a 5-10 mins stroll to the entrance of the park. On an evening you can dine in the village which is located just before the entrance, here you will find evening entertainment with shops and restaurants all open until late into the evening.
There is a excellent rail link direct into Disneyland, so if you were looking to do a bit of sightseeing or shopping in Paris then this is easily accessible.
I think Disneyland Paris is a must whatever your age and with it being so close to the UK, it is a great way of introducing you to Disney.
