When I am looking for a holiday I don't like trawling through brochures or web sites or visiting travel agents. I prefer to deal with people who know me, know what I want interms of quality and once briefed will work hard and find a holiday to suit and also ensure the costs are always competative.

Karen has provided that service for us for a number of years and if you want the hassle taken out of finding and booking holidays and want someone who is very pleasant, very reliable and diligent I would recommend Karen every time.

We had a great holiday, the safari was amazing and by far the highlight of the holiday. We saw all we wanted to see and the lodges were all top quality, our favourite was samburu where the accomodation, food, service and animal viewings were the best! The safari was pretty hefty on travelling and we felt caked in dust for a week! But we got a really good overview of the country and felt that the safari was much longer than what it was. Our least favorite lodge was the Masai Mara, although very funky, the service was poor and staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, this was the first time that we had a problem with animals (lizards) and flies in the room (made it more authentic though!). This was also where we saw the most lions on the trip.

Only go bitten once by a mozie, so we did really well! Daphane Sheldrick was well worth it and I smiled from ear to ear the whole time!

In order of best:

1st Samburu Simba Lodge: stunning room and views, first view of an elephant was from our balcony! See picture.

2nd Mountain Lodge Kenya: great staff, very attentive, very quaint rooms, added extras such as slideshows and hot water bottles in bed. Excellent nature walk guide Benson.

3rd Lake Nakuru: lovely room, balcony and view. Very busy, service and food were average.

4th Mara Serena: very funky accommodation, lovely pool but was impersonal, service poor, not organised, food average.

5th Whitesands Mombassa: dated, scruffy (I know their doing refurbs but greeted by a huge ironing board just inside the doorway of the room is not exactly classy), wouldnt have said it was 4 / 5 star, lovely grounds, great pools, beach dominated by beach boys though, which we were aware of but didn't realise how extreme it would be. Excellent health spa and health bar in silent zone which we used for the majority of our stay, the staff were friendly. This was the only accommodation that we both had food poisoning Steve worse than me!

Overall we had a great time, it's not a trip I'd do again but I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the safari as long as your prepared for long drives, not many toilet breaks and bone shaking roads.

Thank you ever so much for organising our holiday for us, we will certainly recommend you to friends and family and we will be using you in future for "normal" holidays!
