About Me

My name is Kate Self and I am a Travel Counsellor based in Winchester, Hampshire.

I have lived in Winchester for the last three years with my partner and two Yorkshire Terriers and love living here because of the history, atmosphere and surrounding countryside that Winchester has to offer.

I have been lucky enough to travel to South Africa as part of Ecco Tours Academy, and I also went to Australia in 2007 and took part in the Corroboree conference and met over 120 suppliers. I have taken part in a Royal Caribbean cruise line educational trip learning about Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara cruises and I have developed good knowledge of the ships and their destinations through attending numerous ship visits.

My favourite destinations are Australia and South Africa. I love Australia because the country has so many experiences to offer depending on where you are. I have been fortunate enough to do things like take a helicopter flight over the Great Barrier Reef, drive the Great Ocean Road, feed dolphins in Western Australia and sail the Whitsundays on a 3 masted sailboat.

South Africa stunned me with its scenery and the culture. I took a trip to Robin Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned and sampled the culinary skills in many restaurants, my favourite being 'Moyo’s' in Stellenbosch. I took a trip down the Garden Route to Knysna and Plettenberg Bay and saw whales in their natural environment; a moment I will never forget.

I am proud to have joined the UK's number one home-based travel agency and Travel Counsellors has given me the opportunity to be able to spend more quality time with my valued clients, at a time convenient to them, with a world full of destinations to offer; long and short-haul.
