Sydney

HHome of the 2000 Olympic games Sydney really is a cracker of a city. For me the highlight of a trip to Sydney is to climb the Harbour Bridge. Although I was rather panic stricken on the run up to it, the experience was exhilarating and certainly one I will never forget! And as I am not too good with heights I loved the fact that you could not see down, only out!

The Harbour in Sydney is a colossal size and I can only imagine what it would have been like to have been amongst those first arriving into an unknown land. Now Sydney really is one of ‘the’ cities in the world and the gateway to so many other areas of Australia.

Whether it be fish and chips at the famous Doyle’s restaurant in Manley or cricket for the ‘Ashes’, Sydney really does offer a wonderful holiday experience. In fact you could easily spend a week in Sydney and explore the hidden treasures of ‘the Rocks’ - the area of the first visitors - or more cosmopolitan and diverse areas of the city. The hotel I stayed at consists of one and two bedroomed apartments, some of which have a harbour view. The Quaywest is a great location.

A great city to visit at any time of the year but how I would love New Year’s Eve in Sydney!
