About Me
My name is Maaret and I have been working in travel since 1979. I have worked for Finnair and both Business and Retail Travel, the last 12 years for British Airways Travel Shops in Aberdeen. Due to British Airways decision to close all shops in UK this gave me an opportunity to try something different and the decision was made easy when hearing what Travel Counsellors can offer.
Travel Counsellors is one of the largest independent travel agencies in the UK.
I have always enjoyed tailoring holidays to match them with the customers’ needs. Most of my colleagues who are Travel Counsellors work from home, but I decided with my colleague Jeremy Wilson to open a city centre office in Aberdeen for appointments for customers’ convenience.
It gives me a great pleasure when customers value my advice and trust me to choose destinations, hotels and airlines for them.
I am well travelled and between myself and Jeremy, we have visited every continent of the world. My favourite destinations are Cook Islands, Vietnam, Mauritius, New York, Singapore and my home country Finland, places where you can find culture, first class hotels and good food. I have enjoyed many cruises onboard Silversea my favourite cruise company and I have recommended them to many of my loyal customers.
I am looking forward to hearing from you to arrange that 'trip of a life time', though I hope that all holidays arranged by myself are 'trips of a lifetime'. If it is a wedding in Fiji, a honeymoon in Zanzibar, a weekend in Lapland, a birthday in Rome or Formula 1 in Bahrain, I am happy to help.
