About Me
Nice to meet you. I live in Thorne, located between Doncaster and Goole, with my wife Julie, to whom I have been married 18 years, together with children, Scott (18) and Natalie (16). We have a fantastic family life and enjoy taking our dog Ernie for walks and participating in or watching various sports. Sometimes we turn our hand to “DIY” (with varying degrees of success).
Experience
My travel career now spans 30 years, working with independent and multiple travel companies. Before becoming a Travel Counsellor in 2008, I undertook many sales roles within one of the leading travel companies in the world, many in management positions.
As one can imagine, after spending such a long time arranging customers’ travel requirements, I have had some unusual requests over the years. Whether it be a 'double wedding' for 88 customers in Cyprus, securing passages to Antarctica, organising theatre breaks at the world famous “La Scala” in Milan, to reserving a 98 year old grandmother’s first ever flight to Australia to visit her grandchildren or even ensuring a kennel at a Scottish hotel so a beloved pet 'Sansom' would not be left behind – it’s all in a days work!
My favourite destinations and why
Over the years I have been extremely fortunate to visit many different resorts and countries both near and far. It is virtually impossible to pick a favourite destination, however, if pushed I have to admit South Africa and Canada take some beating. To witness a pride of lions from a few feet away, as the lioness gently tends to her cubs, or flying over Niagara Falls in a helicopter with the awe inspiring falls below - the memories will live forever.
What I love about being a Travel Counsellor
I love delivering personal service; something I feel is sadly lacking with many traditional travel agents today. I am a travel agent with a difference! No fixed opening or closing times here, even at weekends. It’s not about booking holidays or reserving flights, but making your dreams come true.
