Swooping down to land and greeted with crystal clear waters and beautiful white sands were such a welcoming sight to me on arrival in Barbados. This was my second visit, but this time without the children! Hence I chose an adult only hotel; The Almond Beach Club & Spa.

St. James, Barbados is the home of Almond Beach Club & Spa. Here, relaxation and exhilaration walk hand in hand along powder-soft caribbean beaches. The adults only (16 and over) all-inclusive resort, offers romantic caribbean vacations to honeymooners, couples ready to renew vows, or just friends and family looking to enjoy a luxurious caribbean destination - it was wonderful! The staff are always on hand and nothing is too much trouble. It offers great value and a good standard of hotel too. I had a beachfront room so ever morning I opened the doors of the balcony onto the beach and every night just listened to the sea. It was very relaxing! One evening we even had stingray's swimming close to the shore which was amazing to see.

Barbados not only offers a great beach holiday but there are lots of things to do too. These include 4x4 safaris, a trip to welchman hall gully, scenic Barbados tours, aquatic submarines, and swimming with the turtles. Car hire is also readily available and this enables you to see everything at your own pace. We indulged in many of these activities.

During my trip I visited many other hotels including the Amaryllis Hotel, Tamarind Cove, Sandy Lane, The Fairmont Royal Pavillion, Almond Beach Village to name but a few so if you need any advice on those please feel free to ask.

Barbados has something to offer everyone whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, an adventure or a family holiday you won't be disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and hope to return again soon.
