My Travel Diaries

Disneyland Paris

Monday 3rd December 2007

I am a big kid at heart and there is nothing better than a few days with Mickey Mouse to bring out the child in everyone!! I take my children here nearly every year and we always have a truly magical experience.

I just wanted to share my last trip with you to give those of you thinking of going to Disneyland Paris an idea of what to expect.

We always travel via the Eurostar and normally from Ashford as it is my easier with parking and generally a lot easier than dragging the girls through central London! The Eurostar check in is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful and each child receives a Disney pack to help the journey go a little more smoothly.
Depending on which hotel you are staying at the staff will give you coloured tags to attach to your baggage which will then be taken straight off of the train in Disneyland and to your chosen hotel. That way you can go straight into the park and start enjoying yourselves. The concierge will look after your bags until you are ready to check in to your hotel. It works brilliantly and I use this service all the time.

On board the train in standard class there is a good amount of room to move around and good onboard facilities. In first class you have a seats with a table and you also receive a meal, normally breakfast as it's an early train to Disneyland.

The Disneyland Park itself is great full of rides and attractions to suit everyone. The Disney Studios is great too offering a completely different experience but definitely one for the thrill seekers amongst you. Use the fast pass where possible as this helps you to avoid lengthy queues.

I stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, situated right at the entrance to the theme park. This is an added bonus as you can enter before other guests too! At this hotel we had characters at breakfast every day at no extra charge which the children just love! They have a beautiful, colonial, old fashioned type of theme running through the whole of the hotel and is reflected in the rooms too. The rooms are very spacious and very comfortable. Even the nightly turn down service leaves you with a chocolate coin in your pillow, a lovely touch!
If you are looking for family rooms accommodating over 4 people there are a number of inter connecting rooms and suites to choose from too. The restaurants are good value and the piano bar very relaxing. A truly magical experience here.

If you have any other questions then feel free to email me!
