It is occasionally nice to pass on a recommendation for a service one has received.

When Cherili and I were trying to book our holiday in Thailand, we spent ages trawling the internet, and got utterly bogged down in so many permutations of different airlines, different agencies, ongoing connecting flights, with taxes, without taxes, with accommodation, without accommodation etc. etc.

Eventually we contacted Penny Owen, a Personal Travel Counsellor based in Canterbury. Penny came to our house and put together the things we needed: times of flights, prebooked seats, extra legroom, taxi waiting at the airport, superb hotel, that she herself had stayed at, and all cheaper than the best internet price that we could find. We were also reassured by dealing face to face with a person, and making credit card payments with a local person, rather than trusting an unknown internet agency.

What confirmed that we had made the right decision, was that just a few days before we were due to depart, the Bangkok airport problems occurred. It was extremely reassuring to have somebody on the phone to us every day, keeping us updated with the problems, and finding alternative airports for us etc. In the end everything went as planned.

Although she is perfectly happy to sort out a simple package holiday, or flight only, I believe she would particularly come into her own for anybody trying to organise a non standard holiday, with multiple destinations etc.

I myself will certainly use her services again.
