An optional excursion from the lovely city of Aswan is to fly down to Abu Simbel. The Great Temple was hewn out of a solid cliff in 13th century BC and along with the Temple of Hathor, is well worth visiting and the short 30 minute flight makes the journey easy.
Visit the bazaar in Aswan for incredible bargains especially spices. Sail in a felucca to the beautiful botanical gardens and enjoy afternoon tea at the Movenpick Hotel panoramic bar which gives you fantastic views of Aswan.
Finish your wonderful Nile journey by taking a hot air balloon flight over the historical sights of Luxor, an amazing experience.
The weather can be very hot at this time of year so be well prepared with light cotton clothing, hats, sun glasses and a high factor sun lotion. The days are very full with very early starts to visit the historic sights to avoid the hottest part of the day. An ideal time to do a Nile Cruise would be through our winter months.
