Mauritrius Gold Conference

I feel very privileged to have spent 4 nights on the stunning island of Mauritius with my fellow Gold Travel Counsellors. Mauritius had been on my bucket list forever so as you can imagine I was very excited for this trip.

Landing in Mauritius on the overnight flight from Dubai (7hrs) we were met for our private transfer 1.5hrs north to the resort of Trou aux Biches and the stunning Beachcomber Trou Aux Biches which would be home for the next 4 nights. A beautiful 5* hotel located on a white sand beach, the low rise property is spread out along the beach with suites and villas located along the beach front, and set amongst the tropical gardens are Junior suite for two and the larger 2 & 3 bedroom family rooms. The property has direct beach access, water sports included, 6 restaurants, a number pools and kids/teen clubs from 3 – 17 yrs making it a great hotel for families and couples.

I am not sure what I was expecting the island to be like but on day 2 of our stay I headed out on an island tour. The island is very green and lush, with a big Indian influence along with waterfalls and amazing scenery there is a number of temples and religious statues, oh and even a rum factory! The island reminded me a little of St Lucia in the Caribbean due to the lush landscape but also very different at the same time. If you are feeling a little more adventurous why not try a speed boat tour, some sea kayaking or even a zip line.

I travelled in September which is the end of their winter but each day was a balmy 26/27 degrees with the odd short tropical shower, absolutely perfect

Would I go back?

Yes I would go back in a heartbeat, the Mauritian people are so friendly, fabulous hotels and service with amazing food, I would definitely recommend for foodies, couples, families. It is also easy to get to via direct flights with BA or Air Mauritius or use Emirates via Dubai and make your holiday a two centre trip staying in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
