Cyprus is the home of Aphrodite, the goddess of love! I was invited to discover Cyprus with Planet Holidays and see why so many choose Cyprus to get married there. I was delighted to spend time finding out for myself what makes this Mediterranean island so popular for marriage, honeymoons and romantic holidays in addition to more traditional family vacations.

Mathilde, Harry and Mark met us all at Stansted for our great 4 hour flight direct to Paphos with Cyprus Airways and 4 hours later we arrived to sunshine, 29 degrees and warm Cypriot hospitality. My first impressions were great having left the UK gloomy clouds and rain to see sunshine, blue skies and a warm friendly welcome of the local people.

With 23 hotels to see and find out about, we knew this would be hard work, but it was easier than any of us imagined and the hospitality of our hosts made this one of the most exceptional experiences for me and I fell in love with the island as many do.

The best time to experience Cyprus is from April to June and September to November although many choose to enjoy the island outside these peak times. Many will find it a little too hot in July and August and a little too wet in February. This is an ideal destination to escape the cold UK winter and enjoy great weather and relaxation in the sunshine.

The island of Cyprus caters for all tastes from budget to high quality 5* and I am very happy to offer suggestions as the best places in Paphos or Limasol to suit you.

Weddings are easily arranged and wedding co-ordinators will ensure that all weddings run smoothly from small weddings with the bride and groom up to 2,000 guests. Catholic and Anglican weddings in chapels, weddings on the beach, or on piers, in hotel grounds, Cypriot town halls or you can even charter your own luxury yacht to hold the wedding ceremony, your reception, then as your guests leave the yacht, you can enjoy your wedding night in the bridal suite which is amazing…everything can be provided to suit all couples at all budgets. Civil ceremonies, civil partnerships are also popular and it’s comforting to know that your wedding co-ordinator and hotel staff are there to make your dream wedding go smoothly. Everything is carefully planned with great detail including flowers, venues, registration and wedding documentation, the wedding ceremony, cocktails, wedding receptions, after dinner parties and perfect honeymoons are all available with your personal wedding planner to ensure that your Cyprus wedding is perfect.

If you are planning a holiday, then Cyprus has an amazing amount of different things to offer. Sun, beaches and Cypriot hospitality are for everyone, golf, horse riding, bowling, shooting, watersports, walking and many other activities including wine tasting.
