In search of Leopard

Sri Lanka is a paradise for birds it isnt uncommon to see Peacocks in trees , wild elephants strolling on roads. Monkeys are everywhere and crocodiles wait patiently for their prey in bodies of water . Leopards are not so common So when we visited Yala national park we looked for Leopard A black Leopard had been spotted the day before so there was a murmur of excitement Having worked in Kenya and gone on many safaris this was a little different it was very bumpy and it was very hot and we were racing around a lot hoping to catch glance of a leopard We eventually saw one late in the day , the sun was low and it was very hard to see because of the glare of the sun but for a fleeting moment i saw the leopard What s lovely about Sri Lanka is that animals are treated with respect so no poaching and the elephants can run wild There are several national parks dotted around Yala is the main one and there is Habarana in the cultural triangle which has lots of elephants When we were driving from some of the temples we saw elephants on the main roads Monkeys are everywhere especially near the temples of Dambulla . Sigiriya ,Polonnaruwa and the waterfalls at Ella Peacocks were so common too everywhere up in the trees!

This would be perfect for a family safari experience
