By my mid 20s, I got slightly more adventurous going camel riding in Port El Kantoui in Tunisia, riding the banana boat and parascending on the beautiful beaches.
It is an education bartering with the Arabs when you go shopping in the gorgeous Marina, you really feel like you are abroad.

I also found this when I have visited Bulgaria, going to Sunny Beach and Golden Sands. The entertainment is fantastic with circus acts, which is usually free when you dine in any of the restaurants. I found the beaches to be fabulous and where else can you walk down the promenade with an elephant walking by your side...what an amazing place!

Greece and Turkey also hold a lot of fond memories for me, from cruising round the various islands of Turkey on a Gulet boat being waited on by two waiters and dining out under the stars, to the amazing bizarre in Bodrum and bustling restaurants.
I enjoy the laid back destinations of Greece, and out of the three Greek holidays I had I found them all very different in their own ways.
Corfu was very green, great shopping and great entertainment. Crete was very historic; we visited the old war cemeteries in southern Crete, and the beaches and the scenery were breath taking. Rhodes was very traditional with great water sports, and excellent, vibrant nightlife. I have always found the weather in Greece to be exceptional.

One of the nicest short haul destinations I have been lucky enough to visit was Portugal. We loved it and stayed in Praia de Rocha. The beaches were out of this world, and the cleanliness of the island exceptional. I enjoyed some wonderful Portuguese dishes, served by the most hospitable of people. I would go back to Portugal in an instant.
I also would return to the neighbouring island of Madeira - a beautiful place! The toboggan run is a must, and the views from the cable car are out of this world. The flower gardens and the botanical gardens are spectacular and we enjoyed strolling around enjoying the leisurely, laid back pace of this island gem.
