My Travel Diaries
We flew into Vancouver and spent one night there in a hotel. Whilst here we visited Stanley Park and the Aquarium. They had a baby Beluga whale that had been born 3 days earlier. It was amazing to see it swimming around and feeding with mum.
The following day we collected our RV motor home and set off for the ferry in Tsawassen. We sailed to Swartz Bay in the South of the Island and then drove north towards Nanaimo. The following day we headed out to Toffino on the Pacific coast. We went Salmon fishing and caught 4 x 20lb Salmons. That kept us in Salmon for the whole two weeks, even trading some with other holiday makers for Elk and Moose along the way. Beautiful for the BBQ and so lean and tasty. We enjoyed a fantastic trip whale watching, and saw grey whales, bald eagles, seals, sea lions, sea otters and puffins. It was truly amazing. Whilst travelling we also saw brown bears, river otters, elk, raccoon's and deer. We took a fishing charter boat up the Inland passage to fish and saw the huge cruise ships passing by. We sailed on canoes and small fishing boats in some of the amazing lakes.
Towards the end of our holiday we visited Victoria in the South of the Island. In Victoria, there were the Tall Ships visiting Victoria Harbour, a truly amazing sight.
We travelled the length and breadth of the Island in our two weeks holiday and stayed at some wonderful places. The views are magnificent. We also met some lovely people who we will continue to contact and hope to meet up with them again on our next visit to this fantastic country.
