Fun in Orlando!

This was my fourth visit to Florida, but the first time I have stayed on-site at Disney and the first time I’d been as a family (with a two year old) rather than as a couple. I wasn’t really sure what to expect!

We booked when they were offering a free dining plan, which they regularly do now if you book early. Any doubts were soon squashed – it was a fantastic experience. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and had giraffes, zebras and lots of other animals regularly wandering around outside our hotel room. The dining plan offered superb eating options and we found ourselves eating in much nicer restaurants than the usual Denny’s and McDonalds we’d experienced on previous visits!

It’s also the first time we’d arranged an itinerary before we left and I would strongly urge anyone going to Orlando, with a lot to fit in, to do this as it did make more of our time. What can I say - the parks, as always, were fantastic. We also visited Legoland which opened last year and for anyone with a car, it’s worth the 45 minute drive. It’s much quieter than the Disney parks but has a few different bits to keep everyone entertained. We also visited Seaworld , one of my favourite parks, and managed to fit four of their shows into one day!

My two year old won’t remember any of it but he had the most amazing time and I’d do it again if I could. For anyone travelling with young children you just need to pace yourself and allow time for naps and quieter days. Overall, another great trip to Orlando – can’t wait for the fifth visit!
