Journey to the remote north western corner of Australia with APT to discover the stunning wilderness of the Kimberley. One of the few remaining wilderness areas on earth, the Kimberley is home to unique wonders just waiting to be uncovered on this once in a lifetime coastal cruise.
Day 1. Depart from Heathrow Airport for your flight to Australia
Day 2. Arrive in Perth for a day at leisure in the capital of Western Australia
Day 3. Fly to Kununurra for a day at leisure
Day 4. Transfer to Wyndham, where you will be welcomed on board your ship.
Day 5. Cruise into Koolama Bay where you’ll Join your Expedition Team and jump aboard a Zodiac to meander along King George River as you edge closer to King George Falls.
Day 6. Set out across the vast salt flats of Vansittart Bay to view the wreckage of a US Air Force C-53 that crash landed on the beach during World War II. On Jar Island you’ll see examples of Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) paintings, dating back some 20,000 years.
Day 7. Venture to Bigge Island, known for its Indigenous rock art. Explore the island's cave system and see examples of first-contact art, depicting European settlers arriving between the 15th to 18th century.
Day 8. Jump aboard your Zodiac for an exploration of Hunter River and Naturalist Island. Later, you’ll have the chance to take a bird’s eye view of Mitchell Falls on a helicopter ride (own expense).
Day 9. Reach Careening Bay today, home to the historic Mermaid Boab Tree. Continue on to Prince Regent Nature Reserve, a protected area only accessible by boat.
Day 10. Join your expedition team for an in-depth exploration of Montgomery Reef by Zodiac. Cruise Doubtful Bay, a hotspot for whale watching. Later, step ashore at Raft Point to visit an ancient Wandjina rock art site.
Day 11. Witness the spectacular Horizontal Falls of Talbot Bay, created by the 12-metre tides. Subject to tidal conditions, set out on a thrilling ride through the falls aboard a high-powered fast boat.
Day 12. Arrive in the Buccaneer Archipelago, home to more than 800 islands. Cruise to Adele Island and explore this remote coastal area by Zodiac. Enjoy a Farewell Dinner this evening.
Day 13. Arrive into Broome this morning and disembark your ship.
Days 14-15. Depart Broome for you flight back to London
