Absorb ancient history and timeless tradition as we travel through the 'Land of the Rising Sun' by futuristic bullet train. Sample Japanese whiskey, soak up the spectacular sight of Mount Fuji, experience an authentic tea ceremony and explore the bustling cities of Tokyo and Hiroshima on an all-encompassing route through Japan's highlights.

You’ll also enjoy a tasting of the award-winning Nikka whisky at a nearby distillery. Hakodate is next, where you can ascend Mount Hakodate via ropeway and visit the bustling seafood market, before travelling by bullet train to Japan's futuristic capital of Tokyo. One of the world's most contemporary cities, join your guide to explore the age-old Asakusa Kannon Temple, the imposing Imperial Plaza, the impressive Meiji Shrine and the fascinating Shibuya crossing. Bidding farewell to Tokyo, board the 'Romance Car' train to Hakone, where a sightseeing tour allows you to soak up the scenic beauty, followed by a delightful cruise across serene Lake Ashi. Next on your expertly-created itinerary is iconic Mount Fuji - arguably Japan's most distinctive landmark. Learn more about this world-famous peak at the Mount Fuji Visitor Centre, before continuing to the impressive Matsumoto Castle, and then on to the fascinating town of Takayama, with a stop at the Hida Folk Village - an open-air museum of rustic farm dwellings in the mountains. The delights of historic Kyoto now beckon. Take a guided tour and drink in the attractions of this ageless city, before enjoying a traditional tea ceremony on the Kodaiji Temple. Spend some time sightseeing in Nara, before you catch a bullet train to Hiroshima – a city steeped in history. Take in the many highlights of this unforgettable destination, including the Peace Memorial Park and the A-Bomb Dome, and gain a greater understanding to the powerful history that helped to shape Japan from a Hiroshima survivor. As well as delving into the city's ancient past, take a boat ride out to Miyajima Island – a tranquil UNSECO wooded island famed for its bright red torii gate and Shinto shrine that appears to be floating just off the coast during high tide. Your once-in-a-lifetime tour culminates in Hakata. Enjoy your final sightseeing tour, and as night falls, soak up the atmosphere of the vibrant market, before heading to a local restaurant for a farewell dinner to celebrate the end of a fantastic all-encompassing tour of the 'Land of the Rising Sun.'
