Discovering Thailand...

Just back from an amazing trip to Thailand. Went Jet Airways from Heathrow to Mumbai and then on to Bangkok. Brilliant airline with a great on board service. The food was amazing.

Arrived in Bangkok and stayed a night in the Nuovo Hotel in the City Centre. Great location and the staff were very friendly. Large rooms with very big walk in showers.

Visited the Grand Palace and various other Temples which were unbelievable. Then went on a long boat trip on the Chao Phray River, very interesting.

The food and drink is so cheap and the food delicious but can be spicy.

The next day we travelled up to the River Kwai stopping at a few Temples on the way. Eventually arrived at the Felix River Kwai Resort. Stunning Hotel set right on the River. Had a great night with good food and entertainment. The next day we visited the cemetery and museum at Kanchanaburi. Very emotional seeing all the graves and reading about what went on all those years ago.

We then took the train over the River Kwai and over the Bridge over the River Kwai and all the way up to Thamkra Sae where the most difficult and scenic part of the Death Railway is. Quite incredible scenery and you are able to walk back down the rail line.

It was then up to the Erawan Waterfall where you can swim with the hard skin eating fish. Only problem is that they are pretty big. Very different experience.

Another good night at the Felix Resort then it was an early rise to walk across the Bridge over the River Kwai. Great photos.

We then drove for about 5 hours to Hua Hin which is south of Bangkok on the coast and stayed in the stunning Marrakesh Resort. Had a great couple of days in Hua HIn and visited the National Park where we took a boar trip around the Islands. Great shopping in the markets at Hua HIn.

It was then back to Bangkok for the trip home with Jet Airways but not before a few bargains were had at the MBK shopping Mall. This is the place to shop if you come to Bangkok. Forget all the markets. This is where all the fake gear etc. is sold.
