Washington State USA

Great flight with BA from Heathrow to Seattle and the views coming into the city are stunning.

It was then off to the Crowne Plaza to offload our cases. It was then down to Pike Place Market for lunch and a look round. Amazing place to visit and the fish were flying around. It was then the Ride the Ducks Tour which is a great way of seeing Seattle by land and water.

Then it was up the Space Needle which has amazing views across the State. At the entrance to the Needle is the Chihuly Garden and Glass experience which was amazing.

Back to the hotel for a quick change then out to Dinner at Oddfellows Café and Bar. Then back to the hotel for a well needed sleep.

Up in the morning and over on the Ferry to Bainbridge on the Olympic Peninsula. Easy ride over and a lovely cheap breakfast on board. It was then off to Port Townsend and a whale watching boat trip but sadly few sightings. The it was a drive to Sequim and check in to the Holiday Inn Express. Then a VIP dinner at the B&B Lavender Farm. Great night and well looked after by everyone at the farm. Great place to visit. Then home for more sleep.

Next day it was over to the Dungeness Spit. It’s one of the longest in North America. Then it was off to Forks and if you love Twilight, this is where its filmed. We checked out a few places in Forks and had a lovely lunch before heading to Hoh Rain Forest in the Olympic National Park, then Ruby Beach before arriving at the lovely Kalaloch Lodge. Great place to stay and visit.

In the morning it was a drive to Cape Disappointment State Park before leaving Washington and into Oregon.

Stay tuned for the next blog from Oregon.
