Family Holiday in Lanzarote

It's 20 years since I was in Lanzarote. However after the Princesa Yaiza Suites Hotel in Playa Blanca was recommended to me by some of my colleagues, I felt it was high time to return to the island and try out this hotel.

We flew with Jet 2 from Newcastle arriving in Lanzarote in the evening and took a 40 minute transfer to the Princesa Yaiza Suites Hotel in Playa Blanca. First impressions of the hotel were amazing, all the staff were friendly and could not do enough to help. They spoke to all guests as they were passing and were pleasant and courteous.

The suites at the hotel are lovely, clean, spacious and well equipped with all rooms having a microwave, sink, fridge and kettle. The sea view rooms had an amazing view of the beach below and all the rooms had reclining sun loungers which was great for relaxing at the end of the day.

Although it is a family hotel, it also caters well for couples, having adult only areas around the jacuzzi. There are three pools - freshwater, saltwater and a children's pool. The children's club (Kikoland) is a short way from the hotel and the mascot 'Kiko' visited the children at breakfast every morning.

Breakfast was lovely, we had a choice of three restaurants, all buffet style, in the evening we also ate at the tapas restaurant and the Italian restaurant which are part of the hotel but located just outside the gates before you get to the promenade and beach. Most evenings though we took the five minute stroll along the promenade into Playa Blanca or 15 minutes to the Marina. There was a great range of restaurants; some of our favourites were La Vita, Brisa and L'Artista.

We didn't see much of the island, although car hire was very reasonable. My daughter was happiest in the pool all day and we went mainly to relax. We spent a couple of days at the beach which was clean and had sunbeds and a great beach bar for lunch!

A fab hotel in a lovely resort - will definitely return!
