Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf club, Jamaica

While I was at Sandals Grande Riviera I also spent time at Beaches Boscobel. Both are owned by the same company but the difference is Sandals is an adults only 'ultra all inclusive' holiday and Beaches is a 'family ultra all inclusive' holiday.

As I have a young family of my own, I was very excited about spending time here and to experience it for myself.

When staying at Sandals Grande Riviera or Beaches Boscobel you can use the facilities at both and shuttle is provided througout the day complimentary and takes about 15 minutes. If you are going with children to Beaches then whilst they are in the childrens clubs or if you take advantage of the babysitting service, thats a perfect time to go for a lovely meal at the Grande Riviera.

The moment I arrived I was greeted by two of the Sesame Street characters dancing away to the live reggae band at the entrance - brilliant! I was sold from that first greeting and I had even stepped into the resort yet! I just kept thinking how much my children would love this.

I was shown round some of the family room types and was impressed to see that some of the rooms even have a microwave which is perfect for heating milk bottles for infants.

The main restaurant even had a mini buffet area which is lower down for smaller children to help themselves and mini solid wooden tables seating four on each in mini sizes for younger children to all eat together, allowing the adults to dine peacefully too.

The main swimming pool, which had a lovely swim up pool bar was the main feature as you come into the hotel through the main restaurant, then further along is the fun pool with pirates island pool area and waterslides. At this area they had a candyfloss machine, popcorn machine, ice cream factory and drinks section to help yourself too.

During the day the Sesame Street characters all parade with band around the pools and encourage children and parents to join in, this was great fun!

The children clubs were also full on with a huge entertainment programme throughout the day and night as well as a creche and baby and toddler clubs with a full programme. You also have the option of paying extra and having a babysitter come to your room in the evening so you can enjoy a meal out or go to the Sandals resort up the road. You can even pay to have a sesame street character come to the room on an evening and tuck the children into bed and read a bedtime story - just magical!

There is a large xbox area with Kinect games ready to play at a touch of a button and loads of xbox stations with various games all around the room. There's an arts and crafts centre and a cooking with Cookie Monster area too all for the children to get involved with.

The beach here is small but lovely. Most of the entertainment is around the pirates Island area of the pool.

I really enjoyed spending time at this resort and would very much like to take my children now too now now that I have experienced it for myself. As with a Sandals holiday, Beaches also includes golf, watersports, tips and all premium drinks and all food and snacks.

This would make a lovely special family holiday.
