Family holiday in Dubai

We took the children on an 8 night family holiday to Dubai on 2nd June 2014, staying at the 5* Jumeirah Madinat mina a salam and it was amazing!! We had such a great holiday and I would thoroughly recommend it! We booked with complimentary half-board which gave us access to over 40 restaurants. This was a god send and saved us a lot of money. The hotel itself has a massive variety of restaurants to keep you going for weeks, so you are spoilt for choice because not only that but you can also dine at a selection of other Jumeirah hotels.

Jumeirah beach was next door so we also spent a lot of time here and dined here too. The great thing about staying in a Jumeirah Hotel is the fact you get access to any of the facilities at any other Jumeirah hotel and also Wild Wadi water park. As the Jumeirah beach was just next door we had days there as you can get there by constant golf buggies going back and forth.

There are three parts to the Jumeirah Madinat, you have the Mina A Salam, Al Qasa and Dar Al Masyaf and you get about by regular Abra boats which take you to restaurants areas, kids clubs, other pools and the Souk Madinat for shopping, plus more restaurants and bars. The bars on certain evenings can get busy with local expats having a night out and couples on holiday but wherever you are staying in the hotels, this won’t really affect you.

We had an ocean front room looking onto the amazing beach, Burj Al Arab and could also see Atlantis. The rooms were really spacious and lovely - they would put water by the beds at turn down service each night and little treats for the children from chocolates to teddies and toys. It was always a treat coming back to our room in the evenings to see what was left for the children and of course they thought it was great!

We pre-booked the dolphin encounter at Atlantis before we went and it was well worth it, the experience was just brilliant. We then had the rest of the day to spend at Atlantis Water Park which was huge. We also pre-booked the Burj Khalifa which is the world’s tallest tower. I wasn’t too fussed about doing this, but am so pleased we did! The water music display was amazing! We also visited the Dubai Mall and I have never seen shopping malls as big as these! It was so much fun for the children too. Emirates Mall is also worth a visit which has the snow dome in it and a big children’s fair rides area.

We flew to Dubai with Emirates on the New A380 airbus, this is the nicest and smoothest flight I have ever been on and so spacious. A wonderful family holiday and one which we will do again in the future.
