Family holiday to Costa Dorada

Donna Bidwell on 19 September 2010
This was our first holiday with the children. Ashlea was 5 months and Erin was nearly 3 years old. We also went with two other families.

We stayed at the Golden Avenida Suites in salou and I had requested our rooms to be next door to each other and pool facing, which we got and were very nice and spacious. We stayed on self-catered basis and the cooking facilities were very good.

The pool area was lovely and the chidlren’s club was excellent. Whilst on holiday we spent the day at the PortAventura Theme park. This was superb and not to be missed! Very good and fantastic rides!

We also spent a day at the Aquopolis Water park, this was a good water park with a free Dolphin show a few times a day. You also have the chance to meet the dolphins at an extra cost.

On one of the evenings we went to see the ‘House of illusion’, this is a magic show which includes food and unlimited wines, beers and soft drinks. I must admit, magic doesn’t normally interest me too much, however this was a superb show. They only had approx. 6/8 large round tables in the show, with 8 people to a table, so it is not too crowded. The tricks they performed were fantastic and it was a very good evening. They actually had my husband participate in a trick that he still can not explain how it happened and our friends husband was also chosen to participate. This show is well worth every penny.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. If we did it again we would go half board or all inclusive.

Overall a lovely holiday in Salou. Oh and don’t miss the lovely restaurant along the seafront which has a very talented cocktail man, who does lot’s of superb tricks with drinks...well worth watching while enjoying your meal!
