A number of new followers have found my travel page recently so I thought I best introduce myself properly once again. So, I'm Enfys (Welsh name pronounced En-vis) and I run my Travel Counsellor business here in Bedford, but my clients are scattered nationwide. I can arrange anything travel related including: Worldwide tailor made arrangements Family holidays & adventures Disney & Lapland Bespoke honeymoons Group tours Cruises Safaris Private Villas Complicated round the world flights Luxury all-inclusive Holidays UK cottages and city breaks (very popular right now) Train travel (European tickets/ Interrail/ Japan rail-passes etc) ......and pretty much anything else you can think of if you're staying away from home! There are no consultation or booking fees for using my service, similar to a high-street agent the prices I have are all inclusive and it's rare to have any separate booking fees. I offer much more than a traditional agent, which keeps my customers coming back again and again. I work hard to find my customers the very best set of arrangements to suit them and their travel budget so they don’t have to. I've travelled a lot myself including all over South America, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, China, Mongolia, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia plus all over Europe and a bit in California. My husband and I travelled solidly for about 2 years which is what inspired me to begin my career in travel and I've since been away a huge amount with my work. Travel Counsellors are a leading British travel franchise company which gives me the backing and financial protection of a large company whilst running my own personal travel business. They don’t advertise at all so we’re massively reliant on word-of-mouth and recommendations to grow which suits my way of working perfectly - Travel Counsellors get tons and tons of awards year on year based on their customer service, delivery and exceptional holidays which is fabulous! You're welcome to read more about me and Travel Counsellors online here: https://www.travelcounsellors.co.uk/enfys.maloney Thanks for reading! Sorry it's so long! Some of my wonderful repeat customers came back to me this weekend as they wanted to find a luxury-log-cabin style lodge for their October break. They wanted a hot-tub, views, a wonderful location, and top facilities in a beautiful setting. And today we booked this place - doesn't it look wonderful? These guys actually made my day/ week/ month as they said they wanted to book with me, even though they could have got a special discount if they booked online elsewhere. I was soo touched by this, and I'm so glad to have such great customers who come back to me again and again. I offer so much more than a human-less & faceless website and just love that they saw the added value in having me manage their arrangements compared with the internet. I'll be here to help if anything needs tweaking or changing pre-holiday and will be here to ask how it went after they come back. Then, I'll be here once again to plan their next trip when the time comes!

Hello Maldives... Located off the scenic island of Medhufaru, Soneva Jani’s water villas come with everything anyone would need for a luxurious and memorable stay including a walk-in minibar, wine cellar, outdoor bathroom, private pool, gym, television lounge, retractable roofs, sun loungers a children's sleeping area and even a water slide. That’s right, guests here can zoom from the upper deck of their villa straight into the glistening turquoise waters of a picturesque lagoon. You can also get up-close and personal with the fish without getting your toes wet as the villas feature sunken seating areas in the open plan living room with a glass bottom, perfect for admiring the marine life. This is such a show-stopper destination and is on my list for once the kids are a tiny bit older!

I just love an impromptu little mini-break! We've come to Bristol for a couple of nights this week and it's great to be away... despite Storm Francis howling away yesterday! The kids were so excited to see the city lights and enjoy looking at Bristol's amazing street art and all the boats in the harbour last night. We've been on several city-breaks with the children this year and the more we do it the more I realise that family mini-breaks are just the best. The kids are only 2 & 4 and as always there are stressful moments in getting away but family travel is so worth it, even for a simple getaway. Hopefully next year we'll take them by train to Amsterdam or Paris and enjoy the sights from a child's perspective. They'd love the markets, museums, street culture and parks and they get super excited about public transport (the weirdos)!! Bristol Suspension Bridge is also beautiful. You'll find woody walks on one side and Clifton's beautiful Georgian buildings, antique shops and cool bars to mosey by on the other... and a short walk or bus ride down the hill will take you past Bristol University to the city centre. Before we moved to Bedford we lived in Bristol for years and we booked a 2 bedroom city apartment right in town and from there we'll be able to wander to the shops, visit St Nicks' Market or go to one of the museums or whatever takes our fancy. We've not been on a 'proper' holiday this year due to Covid but are absolutely loving these UK stays we keep going on. Mini-breaks are great for families with kids of all ages, couples, solo travellers and anybody else who fancies seeing what's right here on our doorstep in the UK. If you're after this type of break, a UK cottage or luxury lodge break then let me know. These types of holidays are so popular right now and Travel Counsellors have so much to offer right here in Britain so let me help you find your next break. Where's your favourite mini-break destination?! Let's plan your next trip together - just message me to get started and we can begin brainstorming some ideas!

How's your summer going?! After complaining all week last week that it was too hot, today it poured all day and we now have the fire on after getting utterly drenched at Woburn Safari! Mad weather! September is usually one of my busiest holiday booking months of the year so it's nice to enjoy a relatively quiet few weeks during August with the family and enjoying days out like these. What have you enjoyed this summer? And what are you looking forward to in the coming months?!

Last night we escaped the kids and went out. Hallelujah (never happens)! My husband and I have travelled a lot, including all over South America, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, China, Mongolia, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia plus all over Europe and a bit in California. We travelled solidly for about 2 years which is what inspired me to begin my career in travel and I've since been away a huge amount with my work. Each night whilst we were away we would play cards most evenings... there were no smart phones then! ... and last night when we went out we took our cards too. Does anybody else do this?!

Turn away now if you don't like beautiful Italian villas..! Or, if you are in fact quite partial to a rustic & charm filled private country house then have a snoop at what I booked for a new customer recently. This place sleeps 11, has it's own private pool, the most wonderful outdoor pizza oven & dining areas, beautiful un-manicured gardens and just everything you'd want from a stay in Italy. It's about an hour drive from Pisa and just a stone throw from the finery of Florence. The family I have booked it for will have all the joys of Tuscany as well as the surrounding towns and cities to explore at their leisure as I also booked a car hire for them for the duration. This booking was made for a new client who was recommended to contact by another of my customers who recommended me on Facebook. After the (very) difficult time the travel industry has experienced over the past few months due to Covid19 I'm so grateful to my wonderful customer base who continue to recommend and refer me. I haven't been this busy since February and I am loving booking all these amazing holidays again! Let me know if I can help you with your holidays!

Long post alert! I was asked recently– “what do you recommend for people with older children”? And if got me thinking – Do any of you have older children? Maybe you’re looking for a family holiday beyond the ordinary beach break? After a quick brainstorm here are a few ideas to get you started. I reckon that any destination you as the parents want to visit can be tailored to incorporate tons of wonderful experiences for the whole family. > You could go on Safari, children & teenagers love animals so why not take them on a trip they’ll remember forever? > You could go to New Zealand and get a motor-home/ big campervan and go for a proper explore (I used to live in NZ so can help with a suggested route and everything) >You could take them to the Waterfalls and Lakes in Croatia, get a car hire and end up on a beach >You could take them Sailing in Australia, see the great barrier reef, see Kangaroos and go to the wonderful Australia Zoo >You could pick up bikes and go cycling around some ancient cities in Asia, you’d see buffalos and rice paddies, charming villages and wonderful exotic plants >You could take them kayaking in Canada and maybe Whale spotting? >You could take them to Lapland >You could go by train to see the Christmas markets this winter (I’m going to take my 2 & 4 year old to Brussels I think) >You could go to Paris by train for some culture then on to Disneyland to finish >You could take them to Japan – one of the safes counties ever, and so amazing for any child who loves trains, technology, nature, animals, and again there is a Disneyland in Tokyo >You could go Skiing in Italy >You could go to see Niagara Falls >You could go and play with Elephants in Sri Lanka >You could zip-line over the Ankor Wat temples in Cambodia >You could go to Dubai as a stop-over and have a few days camel riding, sand-dune buggying, or enjoying the waterparks on your way on to wherever you’d headed next... As long as you’ve planned your trip to cater to the kids, any destination can be brought to life for them. Travelling as a family is so much fun and the memories made by having these authentic and amazing experiences is just wonderful. Can you think of any others to add to my list?

I love Japan, and if you're thinking of heading that way then please get in touch. I just love the tranquil gardens, amazing shinkansen (bullet) trains, the food, and the traditional stays and the onsen experiences (think thermal baths). The neon cities are mind-blowing and the nature trails and hiking second to none. From arriving to Narita Airport I took the train into Tokyo to spend a few nights then headed down to Hakone. In Hakone we stayed in a wonderful Ryokan (traditional Japanese Inn), where I enjoyed the Onsen, total relaxation and the incredible traditional food that's served as part of the stay. From here we took the train to Kyoto then on to Nagoya and Takayama before going on to Osaka before returning to Tokyo to fly home. The whole trip was entirely amazing. The local people were unbelievably accommodating and friendly. I loved the random vending machines from which you could buy a cold drink, umbrella or game from quiet corners. Osaka was a huge surprise to me - I didn't expect to enjoy it so much. It was so busy and bright and the food there was probably the best I had. Going by Shinkansen (bullet train) was fantastic; to hurtle out of the vast cities into a different world full of quiet villages, serene rivers and gentle landscapes was such an experience. You might not realise but Japan is an incredibly safe place to travel to as a family and kids always love the range of experiences on offer. It's a wonderful destination for everybody; couples, single travellers, young adults and children are all catered to as I can create an itinerary to meet each of my clients' travel wish-list and budget. One of my very favourite suppliers is a Japan operator (who I used to work for so I'm 100% bias) so I know exactly how to put both simple and not-so-simple itineraries together to deliver you the very best of Japan. And, don't forget, if you'd rather go as part of a group then I have wonderful small-group tours to offer you too. If Japan isn't on your bucket-list.... then it should be!

Over the years I have spent months and months out in Asia; it's such an amazing destination. The variety of what's on offer is staggering. From luxurious remote beaches, to incredible temples, wonderful landscapes, busy markets, and thriving cities - there is no end to what's on offer. There is just so much to discover, taste, experience, feel and enjoy. One of the most common questions I get asked is 'when is the best time to go' and in all honesty there is not a simple answer. From November to March is peak season as it's the driest time in Southeast Asia but you really can travel year-round to most of Asia. I've almost always visited in off-season/ the wet season, but it's never wet everywhere, and I prefer the fewer crowds! I will work with my clients to tailor the arrangements to fit not only the travel plans but also to compliment the weather for that time of year. My husband and I took our 10-month-old daughter from Hanoi via Hoi An down to Ho Chi Minh City and it was wonderful. She loved the noodle soup the best and the locals adored her. Yes, it was hot when we went in June, but I'd arranged good hotels with Air Con and lovely swimming pools so during the hotter parts of the day we could relax, nap the baby and enjoy the hotels facilities. I'd also arranged for all our transfers to be private and for the car to have a baby car seat for her safety. To list where I've been to in Asia (most many times more than just once) the list goes like this: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, Indonesia (Bali & Lombok), Hong Kong, China, Japan & Mongolia. And I've loved every single trip!

I was reminded this week about just how much I love Vietnam & Cambodia. I've travelled extensively all over Asia and love the variety of what you can do. Did you know that you can zip-line over the Angkor Temples in Cambodia, cruise in Halong Bay, eat the best food, have a pristine beach stay, and hike in the mountains around Sapa all in one 14-day holiday? Vietnam & Cambodia make the perfect pair and you can enjoy both a culturally rich tour as well as making sure it feels like a holiday with plenty of relaxation too. I've been to Asia many many times too, so I'm well placed to help with your plans if you're thinking of going to Vietnam & Cambodia. In fact I took my husband and baby out when she was 11 months and had the most amazing time! Contact me today on 01234 490 014 or email me on Enfys.maloney@travelcounsellors.com I'd be delighted to help with any of your travel plans.

Hooray! I can book all of Sykes UK Holiday Cottages as well as all of Hoseasons properties amongst others. The UK is such a wonderful place to take a holiday and I have so many lovely places to offer you. I'm originally from North Wales so I'll probably try and convince you to take your holiday in Snowdonia but I can also book stays across the UK, I'm just a tiny bit biased :) And no, of course there are no booking fees for booking Sykes or any other cottage with me!

My (now) husband and I spent months in South America a few years ago and we celebrated New Years here in Rio de Janeiro. It's a vast and stunning city. This is an image of the view from the Sugarloaf Mountain - you can take a cable car up to the summit. From the top, you'll be able to enjoy 360-degree views across the sprawling city below, Guanabara Bay, Copacabana Beach and up to Christ the Redeemer statue. The itineraries you can take from Rio are amazing and so diverse. Have you ever looked up Iguazu Falls?!

Have I mentioned how much I love Peru? I spent just under 2 months there with my husband some years ago. We went to Spanish school in Cuzco, hiked the Inca Trail, saw incredible condors (massive indigenous birds), enjoyed Pisco Sours (vile egg-white-based alcohol), saw the white stone and beauty of Arequipa, hiked down into the Colca Canyon which is one of the deepest canyons in the world. We rafted down incredible rivers, camped, biked, relaxed, enjoyed the 'highest Irish Bar in the World' and so much more. Before I worked in travel, I travelled. We backpacked around the world for 2 years more or less and although I have now swapped hostels for more comfortable hotels the feeling you get from a proper break away from the ordinary still drives me and inspires me every day. If you want a tailored trip to fit you please contact me on Enfys.maloney@travelcounsellors.com and we can start putting your next adventure together.
