The world’s most spectacular Tall Ships… Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest sailing vessels. Visiting intimate ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and offering passengers the activities, amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht, Star Clippers is recognised as one of the premier speciality cruise lines. Passengers can enjoy the romance of sailing on board a true tall ship in a relaxed atmosphere with high standards of service provided by an attentive crew. All three ships have expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar and a comfortable piano bar.
On Star Clippers, there are no rigid schedules. Guests are free to do as they wish during the day and evenings. Each evening local performers on board give passengers an authentic taste of the local music and arts. The Captain and crew are superb improvisers of the kind of light-hearted fun you’ll only find on Star Clippers. The Captain’s daily briefing on deck is wonderfully informative and a chance to hear some great story-telling as well. And there are other events and activities, such as knot tying and navigation classes, that have evolved from Star Clippers’ sailing heritage. In fact, our passengers tell us that it’s the easy-going informality of Star Clippers that makes a cruise with us so enjoyable.
Dine out on a comprehensive menu of international foods that are all prepared by passionate, professional chefs. Taste delights from around the world and go on a culinary tour of the world. Leave your black tie and ball gowns behind, relax, and make yourself at home within the casual elegance that is a Star Clippers cruise.
The Water Sports staff help passengers enjoy more uncommon adventures such as snorkelling with tropical fish and all passengers have access to complimentary water sports including banana boating, sunfish sailing, water skiing and windsurfing. Passengers can also enjoy aerobics classes, swimming in one of the on-board pools, or taking part of the exciting shore excursions, plus crab races, limbos, scavenger hunts and other daily activities.
Passengers may spice up their nightlife by enjoying the rhythms of folkloric shows and local entertainment at the many fabulous ports of call, or enjoy onboard activities such as talent night, fashions shows, and barbecues.
The fleet is made up of three strikingly tall sailing ships which add an air of style and elegance to any cruise. These four and five-masted boats really do make a lasting impression on anyone who sales in them and leave guests feeling nostalgic for the days when these kinds of vessels ruled the oceans. Royal Clipper, the largest of the three and the largest ship of her kind since the mighty 'Preussen', is joined by Star Clipper and Star Flyer in offering tall ship cruises to sailing and adventure enthusiasts all over the world.
In contrast to the historical feel of the ships, the facilities on board are as modern and stylish as ever. There are different categories of staterooms depending on guests' needs, all of which are equipped with en-suites, televisions, phones, DVD players, hair-dryers and a safe, and some cabins also have their own private veranda or open straight onto the deck. As well as these personal facilities, there are plenty more in terms of public areas to explore. Each ship has multiple swimming pools, a library, bar areas to relax and enjoy the delicious cuisine that is served daily, and Royal Clipper even has an observation lounge to enjoy the passing scenery from the comfort of a chair.
