Holland America Line has launched a new programme of cruises, designed to let you delve deeper into the many cultural wonders of the world with more time spent in less visited ports. These Explorations Central (EXC) cruises debut on one of the line’s most popular ships, Maasdam.
At the heart of the EXC programme are six different themes. On your cruise you may stick to one theme or mix it up in every destination. Your themed activities don’t start and end ashore, as they’re complemented by onboard experiences too.
So, if you love photography, you can gain tips from an expert before setting out on an excursion to find the best spots to shoot. Or if food and drink is your passion, you might visit local markets to see how different ingredients are used in regional cuisine, before a cooking demonstration on your ship helps you to recreate those flavours.
There’s active exploration tours, where you’ll learn about your destination in a talk onboard before setting out on a kayaking, snorkelling or hiking adventure. Or enjoy lectures and tours around the local ruins if history is the theme that interests you the most.
The art and culture theme incorporates local theatres and dance performances, alongside traditional visits to museums and galleries, while nature and science tours get you up close to the many natural wonders of the world.
Come on board Maasdam and enjoy classic-style cruising combined with an enriching journey to unique, seldom-visited ports. Explore French Polynesia, the South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and more. Contact your Travel Counsellor for more details.
