A remarkable island that’s home to shimmering turquoise waters, gardens of vibrant coral and soft white sands, together with magnificent mountains and huge banana groves, Jamaica is filled with beauty wherever you look.
Jamaica also offers a diverse range of exciting experiences to delight every type of traveller. Here are just a few ideas to make your time on this idyllic Caribbean island even more unforgettable.
No trip to Jamaica would be complete without a visit to the sleepy hillside village of Nine Mile - the place where Reggae legend, Bob Marley, was born and also laid to rest. Take the breath-taking drive through the mountains whilst listening to some of Marley’s classic hits, and drink in the allure of the lush landscapes and charming rural villages. Once you get to Nine Mile, step inside the Bob Marley Museum, which is located inside his former home. Filled with amazing memorabilia, including his gold and platinum records and his favourite shirt, this is the ultimate place to celebrate the life and music of the Father of Reggae.
If you feel like more relaxing pursuits, why not hop on a traditional bamboo raft for a guided sail down the scenic Martha Brae River? Drink in the sights and listen to the legend of this beautiful and peaceful river. It’s the perfect way to see more of inland Jamaica and experience the peaceful serenity of the stunning island landscape.
One of Jamaica’s national treasures, the world-famous Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios is scattered with a series of crystal-clear miniature pools. This stunning 600ft waterfall provides the perfect place to relax as you make the leisurely climb to the top. The mountain waters cascade down the rocks over the natural terraced steps, which movie enthusiasts may recognise from the James Bond movie, Dr. No, and Cocktail starring Tom Cruise.
“Whether you want adventure, or are ready to tie the knot, or if you simply want some rest and relaxation in paradise, Jamaica has the lot!”

Jamaica has a rich history, with stunning age-old mansions and 18th-century plantations to explore. The Rose Hall Great House is one of many attractions on the 6,600-acre Rose Hall plantation, which includes mountain villages, cane fields and immaculate golf courses. The 18th-century mansion was once home to wealthy plantation owner, John Palmer, and is said to be haunted by John’s wife, Annie, who murdered him and two subsequent husbands in the house. If you’re feeling brave, take one of the candle-lit evening tours of the house and find out more about the history of this impressive building.
Thrill seekers will be in their element in Jamaica. See the island’s impressive mountainous landscape from a different point of view with a zip line tour over the treetops. Swing through the jungle canopies, feel the Caribbean breeze against your skin and marvel at the lush tropical rainforest that lies beneath you.
One of Jamaica’s most stunning natural wonders, The Blue Hole is a deep limestone cavern nestled amidst the island’s tropical mountains, close to Ocho Rios. Taking its name from the deep turquoise tones of the water in the natural limestone sinkhole, this hidden gem is not to be missed. The Blue Hole’s refreshing waters are an excellent place to go swimming, try your hand at cliff jumping or have some fun on the rope swing.
“Jamaica really is a special place – it’s very beautiful. The scenery is stunning, the food is amazing – whether eating the most delicious fresh fruit, fine dining, or a chicken wrap at Scotchies. The people are warm, friendly and fun. There is so much to do. I hope to make it to Bob Marley’s house, Dunn’s River Falls, and Rose Hall next time I visit.”
