One of the last, great untamed continents on the planet, Antarctica is a truly captivating travel destination. A world that fills the heart, overloads the senses and imprints on your memory forever, Antarctica offers an unforgettable holiday experience that is nothing short of bucket list worthy.
Join the incredible ‘Antarctica Explorer’ voyage in March 2021 and get ready to discover the earth’s southernmost continent during the seasons when the sun never sets.
Get up close and personal with iridescent icebergs and marvel at breath-taking blankets of pristine snow that the area’s amazing wildlife call home. On your spectacular voyage, journey through the shifting pack ice and watch out for whales arriving for the summer, bustling penguins engaging in fascinating courtship rituals and leopard seals guarding their young.
Combining a wealth of fascinating wildlife viewing with awesome activities and continental landings, this return-sail Antarctica expedition will provide you with memories to treasure forever.
On this unforgettable expedition, you’ll sail onboard the ground-breaking state-of-the-art vessel - the Greg Mortimer. Proudly named after Aurora's adventurous co-founder, this 104-metre ship is set to be one of the most advanced expedition ships in the world when it begins to set sail in October 2019.
The purpose-built vessel is capable of negotiating the strongest winds and waves, and featuring unique hydraulic viewing platforms and specially designed Zodiac launching platforms, you’ll be able to get the best possible views of the spectacular Antarctic landscape and the elusive wildlife in their natural habitat. With just 100 landing guests, your time is maximised with multiple daily landings enjoying maximum time at all sites.
After a long day in the wild, learn more about the region with a presentation in the spacious lecture room, treat yourself to a massage in the Wellness Centre or enjoy a drink with newfound friends in one of the two bars and lounges. When it’s time to dine, meals are served in the large restaurant, where you can indulge in a range of house wines, beers and soft drinks with dinner. You’re also welcome to 24-hour complimentary coffee, tea and snack facilities onboard, so you’ll never be hungry or thirsty.
During your voyage, you’ll stop off at some of Antarctica’s historic huts and scientific research stations and partake in unique optional activities such as snowshoeing, snorkelling, sea kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding.
Onboard the Greg Mortimer, there’s a spacious mud room, in which to change into your outerwear and specially-designed loading platform for all activities, a concept overseen by the ship’s activity experts.
