What do you want from your family holiday? Whether you’re looking for an active break with pursuits to keep everyone entertained, or a quiet getaway where you can simply enjoy each other’s company, the UK has so many options for making memories you’ll treasure forever.

This traditional seaside resort, Scarborough boasts lovely beaches, traditional amusement arcades, a mini railway and open-air theatre meaning you’ll never be short of things to do even if the Great British weather lets you down.

Scarborough is also home to the amazing Alpamare water park with a wave pool and 35-degree outdoor garden pool as well as an alpine wellness centre and spa. Thrill-seekers will love the four state-of-the-art slides including the fast and furious Snow Storm and the breath-taking double-tube Olympic Run.

Good to know: Just around the bay is the grand coastal retreat, Raithwaite Estate which features two hotels, private stone cottages, a tranquil spa and an excellent restaurant. The hotel offers interconnecting rooms, perfect for families who are still looking for privacy.

With its endless attractions and glorious sandy beaches, it's easy to see why Cornwall is one of the UK’s favourite locations for family holidays.

Newquay is home to some of the county’s finest beaches and there are lots of water activities - it even hosts the annual Boardmasters Festival for surfers. When you’re ready to leave the beautiful beach, there are stately homes and award-winning gardens all waiting to be explored.

The picturesque fishing harbour of St. Ives is a renowned coastal destination once voted as the best family holiday destination by Coast magazine. The town itself has quaint art galleries and independent shops and bars while St. Ives Bay is the perfect place for a spot of rock pooling.

Good to know: The Minack Theatre will be hosting storytelling mornings, concerts and comedy nights in their famous cliffside open-air venue throughout the rest of the summer and autumn.

With vintage vibes and tempting retro shops, Margate brings about feelings of the good old days of traditional seaside stays. Visit the Old Town with its amazing cultural vibe; think chic cafes and vintage shops mixed with traditional seaside delights.

Take a family cycling trip and explore the stunning beaches along the coastline. Bikes are available to hire from ride..., located at Margate Railway Station with two-seater trailers and baby seats available for little ones

Good to know: Make sure you visit the mysterious Shell Grotto, a 30-metre underground tunnel made up of a mosaic of over four million shells.
